Dunville's - Three Crowns Whiskey

A vintage blend of premium aged malt and grain whiskeys aged in three of the best barrels. Three Crowns is a blend of 50% malt and 50% grain whiskey aged 8 to 15 years. Unlike many blends that are generally aged separately, Dunville's blends grain and malt from 8 years and the malt of 15 years together, to age them in Oloroso barrels of first filling for an additional 12 to 18 months. The industry standard would be to age the components separately, the grain being preserved in old bourbon barrels for blending and malt in old bourbon barrels first then in Oloroso. 70cl - 43.5% Tasting notes Nose: Very sweet, floral and juicy. Orchard fruits intertwined with caramel nuts, nougat and powerful notes of butterscotch. Taste: The initial sweetness of the malt gives way to light citrus fruits, orange, lemon, green apples, pepper and cloves. The spices of the wood and the beautiful oak tannins firm up this whiskey before the oloroso sherry casks draw the final curtain. Finish: Orchard fruits and caramels give way to subtle notes nuts, nougat, vanilla and dried fruits in a soft and persistent.
