
Rosito is the most widespread mushroom in the Sila plateau. The rosito, technically Lactarius deliciosus, belongs to the Russulaceae family. And during its collection it is often confused with mushrooms belonging to its own family, which have the same morphology and colour, but are, unlike it, toxic and, therefore, inedible. It has a particular flavour, tending towards acrid, with a peppery aftertaste.
