In 2016, our curiosity was aroused by a TV report. From then on we wanted to try making a delicious gin ourselves. Admittedly, the first experiments with Korn and Vodka failed miserably. But instead of despairing, it awakened our ambition and inventiveness. So we delved wildly into literature, scoured the internet and scouted out fellow distillers and distillers. Months passed and countless samples were tested, tasted and analyzed. Despite the long trial and error, we were sure of one thing from the start: we really want to incorporate our beautiful Black Forest environment in which we grew up into the gin recipe. Because everyone should experience our handmade Black Forest Gin with all their senses.
After almost nine months of secret tinkering, the four final favorite samples were finally presented to our friends and family. In this way, we were able to filter out and vote for the best mixture of first creations through other gourmet palates and honest opinions. Until now, this project has been a secret for everyone around us. At first we didn't tell anyone about it because we didn't know if others would like our creation as much as we do. Luckily we weren't disappointed by the honest opinions. What motivated us even more to realize our dream.
Looking back, we are very proud of having realized our vision of "taking people on a journey through the Black Forest". April 2017 was the day and the V-Senses Black Forest Dry Gin was presented to the general public for the first time. The enthusiastic response was overwhelming! Then everything happened very quickly: In no time at all, our 500ml mini still became a 50L - and after just one year a 147L column still. In 2021 we have now been awarded 20 international medals, including gold at the World Gin Awards 2019 and the silver DLG Prize 2020.
Looking back, we are very satisfied with the current development. Because within the last few years we have been able to reach a lot of people with our handmade V-Senses Black Forest Gin. In the meantime, our trading partners in Germany are widely spread, and in addition to our fantastic social media fan community, we now have regular customers throughout the federal state.
