A unique terroir:
Perched at an altitude of 400m between sea and mountains, our vines benefit from unique conditions in Roussillon and within the Agly valley.
On rare Gneiss and Granite soils, very old metamorphic rocks, this very fresh terroir allows us to find a balance conducive to the production of fine, fresh and elegant wines.
A new breath:
Taken over in 2016 by Quentin and Louis Modat, our vines have been organic and biodynamic for over 10 years now.
In constant search for improvement, we develop innovative viticultural approaches based on living things: plant cover, biodiversity, pastoralism, soft pruning, traditional grafting and plant care.
Heritage :
In the village of Cassagnes in AOP Côtes du Roussillon Villages Caramany, Carignan is the emblematic and historic grape variety. We maintain very old vines there planted before 1905 or 1920. This invaluable heritage which requires a lot of attention and manual work nevertheless gives us a certain depth and minerality for our vintages.
A modern cellar, gentle vinifications:
Second step for the creation of great wines, the cellar was created in 2008, semi-buried, built with organic materials and positive energy, it integrates into our environment.
Eequipped with thermoregulated concrete and stainless steel tanks as well as the best equipment, it paradoxically allows us to work as simply and as naturally as possible.
Vinification plot by plot, native yeasts, gentle extraction by infusion, whole bunches and homeopathic dose of sulfur correspond to our "terroir" approach.
Optimal aging conditions:
Since 2017, a cellar for maturing and vinifying whites has been added to the cellar. Completely buried, open to the rock, it benefits from optimal hygrometric and thermal conditions for the aging of our wines.
We favor the use of large containers, casks and demi-muids, to work with finesse, without standardizing or too structuring woodiness.
