CINNAMON STICK - eco

Cinnamon is a spice obtained from the inner bark of the cinnamon tree, a tree native to Sri Lanka and other parts of Asia. 

The bark is dried and rolled into sticks or ground into powder for use as a spice in cooking. 

Cinnamon has a mild, warm flavor, with slightly sweet and spicy notes. 

It is commonly used in pastries, desserts, hot drinks and savory dishes. 

Cinnamon is present in many spice blends.   Cinnamon is a very versatile spice in cooking, baking, cinnamon is often used in desserts such as apple pies, cakes, cookies and muffins. 

It can also be sprinkled on top of whipped cream or frosting to add flavor. 

It is often used to flavor hot drinks such as coffee, tea and hot chocolate. 

Combined with star anise and ginger, it will flavor mulled red or white wines.   In savory dishes, cinnamon can be used in savory dishes like meat stews, soups and sauces to add depth and complexity to the flavor. 

It can be used in marinades for meat or fish. 

Cinnamon is often used in curry recipes to add flavor and depth to the sauce.   In general, cinnamon stick is used in moderation because it can quickly overpower other flavors in a dish. 

It is therefore important to use it sparingly, starting with a small amount and adjusting according to taste.
