Whole nutmeg

Nutmeg grows on tall trees in the Nosy Be area of Madagascar. Ripe fruits reveal oval nuts, wrapped in mace, also in our range. Collected, dried and selected by hand by young women in a cooperative, they are ideal for desserts, mashed potatoes, bechamel, mulled wine and oriental dishes. Grind at the moment to keep the heady aroma. Nutmeg is the seed of the fruit of Myristica Fragrans, an evergreen tree that grows on the north coast of Madagascar. Oval in shape, it has a sweet and spicy flavor intensified by the aromatic oil. In the kitchen it is used in many dishes: baked pasta, ravioli, tortelloni, meatballs, game, purées, sauces and broths, cheese and vegetables, even as a flavoring for cakes and creams.
