Harvested in Nepal in the Kathmandu region, this "false pepper" is a cousin of the Sichuan bay found in China, or also Japanese and Korean sansho. Timut berries have an intense and fresh flavor, with notes of grapefruit and lime. The taste is fruity, floral and enhanced with a subtle spiciness. They have a spicy and peppery aroma, which may be reminiscent of Sichuan pepper. Timut berries are commonly used to add flavor to meat and vegetable dishes.
