
It is characterized by a very small size and a fine, easily digestible peel. It is rich in group B vitamins and mineral salts. Furthermore, it contains little fat and lots of fiber and is a notable source of iron and phosphorus. Excellent when combined with fish-based dishes, alternatively it can be used to make hot soups, side dishes, delicious salads and gourmet dishes. It is advisable to enjoy it with the sole addition of salt and Extra Virgin Olive Oil. No soaking / 15 minute cooking. Onano Lentils are also called the 'Papals' Lentils' due to their widespread consumption as early as 1600 by the papal court which resided in the Popes' Palace in Viterbo. Initially it was produced only in the lands of the municipality of the same name for which it boasts an ancient tradition.
