The production of bottled Cirò wine dates back to the 1800s, when for the first time a small quantity of bottles of wine was produced for the noble families of the area, owners of the major vineyards.

In 1960 my father, Francesco Linardi, decided to open a small cellar in Cirò Marina and since then, every year, he has selected and bought the best quality grapes from the many small vineyard owners in the Cirò area.

In 1972, after having established a thriving market in northern Italy, he decided to found Linardi Casa Vinicola in Crucoli, a few steps from Cirò Marina, a cellar built with modern criteria and suitable for the production and distribution of his Cirò Docs.

I grew up in daily contact with the winery and it was natural for me to choose to support my father in his business and to continue his research work on our wines.

During my period of study, at the Enological School of Conegliano Veneto, I began to take an interest in experimenting with new techniques for producing wines with the native Cirò grapes, an interest that today has become an important part of my activity; this experimentation gave birth to the product of excellence and the pride of Linardi Casa Vinicola: the Galiò, a particular white wine, created for the first time in 1992, the result of a careful white vinification of black Gaglioppo grapes, the first and only vinification of this type carried out in Calabria.
