The Moulins d'Ascq brewery was created in 1999 in Villeneuve d'Ascq, in the north of France.

Mathieu Lepoutre, the founder of the brewery has chosen to use products exclusively from organic farming in order to control the quality and origin of his raw materials.

Organic farming makes it possible to preserve the original taste of the ingredients used by the brewers and to know precisely their origin.

Our suppliers are like us, craftsmen in love with their product. We participate together in developing a different economic system that values the work of the entire sector. We exercise the beautiful profession of brewer with pleasure. Transforming barley malt and hops from organic farming into beer is our know-how, the value added by the whole team with the ultimate goal of satisfying and delighting our customers.

Our ecological commitments

On the way to the locker!
75% energy, 33% water, 79% greenhouse gas emissions: these are the savings made possible by reusing bottles compared to wasted glass.

Since 2019, Moulins d'Ascq has been experimenting with a glass bottle collection test. Bring back your empty bottles to be washed and reused!

Use of clean energy
Moulins d'Ascq is a partner of Enercoop, a 100% renewable and cooperative energy supplier. For each Kilowatt consumed by the brewery, one kilowatt of renewable energy is produced by Enercoop.

Valuation of spent grains
Dregs are the barley residue left after brewing. Our spent grain is recycled by an organic farmer, who uses it to feed his cows.

Local commitment
Moulins d'Ascq supports civic initiatives that respect the environment, such as the experimental hop farm in Morbecque.

Responsible Transportation
Moulins d'Ascq promotes low-pollution transport. Thus, 2/3 of deliveries are made by vehicle using biogas. We have also experimented with river transport, which is less polluting and less noisy.
