One summer evening in 1992, Armelle and Dominique, both beer lovers, seated on the terrace of a bar in Corte, regret not being able to taste a Corsican beer.
They then decide to create it. The idea was launched, and the story of Brasserie Pietra, the first brewery in the history of Corsica, began that day.
After many years of perseverance, the Brasserie Pietra opened its doors in 1996 and Corsican beer was born: it is called Pietra, out of attachment to the small village of the Sialelli family, Pietraserena. This beer will be very successful thanks to its character and specificity: it is brewed with Corsican chestnut flour, a real institution on the island.
Since then, the Pietra clan has grown, Pietra Bionda, Pietra IPA, Pietra Blanche, and so many others who have made their mark.

Real family history, in 2021, Hugo, the son, takes over the reins of the Brasserie. Strong in his convictions, he is now continuing the actions started by his parents with the aim of placing the activity of the Brewery in an (even more) eco-responsible approach.
Indeed, since its opening in 1996, the Brasserie Pietra is attentive to the preservation of its territory and supports its development with strong environmental approaches. Water management, CO2 recovery, energy savings… are all actions implemented. Brasserie Pietra is also committed to many cultural, sporting and charitable associations, whose actions bear witness to Corsican solidarity.
