Kansas City Rub

Rub comes from the English “to rub” which means to rub. Also called “rubbing spice” or “rubbing salt”, it is most often used in dry marinades. The principle is to apply the Rub directly to the food without mixing it with oil or any other liquid. It is a must-have for an American-style grill. Its primary function is to flavor meats without altering them. Its use can extend to fish or vegetables/starches. Kansas City barbecue is considered the most dominant and recognizable style of barbecue in America. Their difference lies in the diversity of meats used. Smoked for a long time and often glazed with a sweet sauce made from tomato, molasses and brown sugar, they have a golden brown crust and are usually served with baked beans, French fries and coleslaw. Our Kansas City Rub is made on this typical sweet/savory base. Its slightly smoky flavor is suitable for most grilled meats or vegetables.
