Mexican oregano actually belongs to the verbena family. It is locally called "oregano" because of its use and its flavor which is however different from the oregano that we know by its intense lemony notes which make it sublime! In association with Mexican peppers (pasilla, mulato, chipotle…) and a little cumin, it will bring all their authenticity to your Mexican dishes. Obviously, it can substitute for Mediterranean oregano or savory. Salads, grilled meats, sauces, fresh cheeses, stews, pizzas, meats, fish or seafood: it will surprise you!
