Bertha the great was the first whiskey distilled in our still, “Bertha la Grande” leaving our workshops.Here is the story of Bertha the Great: from 2019 to 2022 this unpeated malt was aged in bourbon barrels. It then matured in Madeira barrels for 4 months then for an additional 4 months in Burgundy Pinot Noir barrels freshly reburned by Guillaume Lacroix, our companion cooper from Sancerre. This double finish gives it its fruity/toasty complexity.
