Originally, rye whiskey was distilled in the United States by German immigrants. This cultural influence is also illustrated by the more than 300-year history of the Sasse distillery. With his RYE 094, Rüdiger Sasse interprets this tradition by using regional raw materials. The raw brandy is created in a column, the fine brandy in a copper still. The distillate made from 75% rye and 25% roasted rye malt (roasting temperature 170-220 °C, EBC 800-1200) matures in medium toasted American white oak barrels. The result impresses with the taste of vanilla, hazelnut, orange, rock candy and chocolate.
