Le Rorange de la Cousine 2023 - Natural Wine - Organic

This natural orange wine is a unique micro-cuvée, entirely vinified in our cellar in Courbevoie, from a blend of a light rosé wine and an aromatic orange maceration wine, grapes coming from vines that our partners work organic and biodynamic.       It is a light and fruity rorange, the aromas evoke holidays, lychee and grapefruit, with a refreshing and complex tangy finish.       We sipped it with mozzarella made in Paris, to psychedelic soul from the 60s.
This rorangze wine is a blend of Grolleau vinified as rosé and Gewurztraminer vinified as orange.
We will get the Grolleau from the winegrowers Grégory and Elisabeth Nouteau, who work their vines organically in Anjou and the Gewurztraminer at Domaine de l'Envol, who work their vines biodynamically in the Haut-Rhin in Ingersheim.
They are harvested by hand then we bring them back to Courbevoie where we continue with vinification.
The grapes arrive at 8°C in the cellar.
For Grolleau, the grapes are immediately pressed and pumped into a stainless steel vat.
48 hours of settling, we rack off then the fermentation starts and remains at around 16°C.
This is followed by malolactic fermentation and aging for 5 months in vats.
For Gewurztraminer, the grapes are immediately destemmed and crushed then pumped into a stainless steel tank.
Cold maceration for 48 hours then fermentation begins, we pump over daily for 8 days then we press the grapes.
The wines were then blended to create this explosive white.
We do not use sulfur at all during winemaking or during bottling. Happiness in a bottle 🙂
