In this company portrait of the Strandwetter Distillery, we would like to introduce you to our company and the people behind it. The Strandwetter Distillery is located on the Lower Saxony side of the Weser in Lauenförde, directly on the river. Fine spirits are made here by hand between the Weser Cycle Path and the Weser.
With the acquisition of the former Pieper farm, our project started. The property - located directly on the Weser - is gradually being converted, extended and extended.
The team at the Strandwetter Distillery consists of Joachim Kalitzke, Sandra Treml, Mitja Fehring and Kerstin Moritz.
Jo is a full-time chemistry teacher at the Bad Karlshafen comprehensive school. His strengths clearly lie in his understanding and background knowledge of the topics "the interaction of flavor molecules", "the oxidation and maturation of alcohol", "the extraction of aromas" and, fortunately for Sandra and Mitja, in dealing with bureaucracy and bookkeeping.
Sandra, as the former manager of the Jahnhalle, can hardly wait to finally organize and carry out tastings and events again and to enjoy the warm summer evenings at the beach bar. Until then, she will be busy tinkering with designs, texts and flyers, filling and corking bottles, sticking on labels and all the other thousand little things that nobody sees but still has to be done. Mitja is a qualified master chef in the German Navy. After his time as first boatswain and canteen leader on the frigate Karlsruhe and long-time operations manager of the Wilhelmshaven officers' home society, he knows how to combine taste and finesse in a practical and skilful way. As a member of the German Armed Forces Olympic team of cooks, he has already proven himself and his skills internationally.
Kerstin is a trained laboratory assistant and a good soul who not only has our backs but also put the owl on paper for the Dicky Bird label with a skilled hand. Each of us brings his know-how, passion and enthusiasm to the cause. In different parts and emphasis, but always with the goal. to make the world a little more enjoyable.
