The story of Maurice & Thérèse began a long time ago in the 1920s, when Maurice, a young farmer from Calvados, decided to produce his brandy from apples from his orchards. From there will be born the Calvados of the Auvray family, a product which will be worked, refined, perfected over the years.
At that time, farmers could produce their brandy by holding the title of distiller. Maurice produces his Calvados until 1998, the last year of distillation before letting it age for more than 20 years in oak barrels. Over the years, the fruit of his efforts has been rewarded, his Calvados is appreciated, requested and even awarded at the general agricultural competition in the Calvados AOC out of age category.
Maurice's wife, Thérèse, is also involved in the adventure by supporting her husband and participating in the sale of brandy.
Today, it is the turn of the grandson, Alain, to take up the torch. When the agricultural estate was sold, he found this well-preserved family heritage in two barrels. The result is 2 cuvées with different temperaments, in a limited edition of 619 carafes of the Maurice cuvée and 1094 carafes of the Thérèse cuvée.
