DESCRIPTION: This fine and complex red wine is produced by the Santalba family estate in the prestigious Rioja Alta region. After a lifetime of producing high-quality wines, Santiago Ijalba comes full circle with this unique vintage. Vinification and aging: The grapes are lightly destemmed in the traditional manner, before a 3-day pre-fermentation maceration. Spontaneous fermentation is carried out in 600 L French oak barrels. The wine is then aged for 17 months in new French oak barrels, to produce a wine of wonderful complexity, with indisputable aging potential.
