Home-grown paprika from La Vera, handcrafted, faithful to tradition and using techniques passed down from generation to generation. A unique paprika.
The production of Sifón de las Monjas is full cycle. Our team is present in all phases of production. From the selection of seeds to the grinding of the pepper, including the harvest and smoke drying.
We produce our products on our farm in the Vera region, in the province of Cáceres, Spain.
These are some of the artisanal procedures that make us unique:
• Limited production. Our paprika comes exclusively from peppers harvested on our farm
• Hand-picked. We only select the peppers that, one by one, have reached their optimal degree of ripeness.
•Smoked with oak wood. Our paprika acquires its characteristic smoky aroma during the drying process, which takes place in our stone drying sheds heated by oak wood fire.
•Stone ground. We grind our peppers in centuries-old stone mills, respecting the grinding techniques used for generations. We only use the peel of the pepper to make our paprika.
The sum of these processes makes our paprika a unique product, with an intense colour and uniform texture, stable over time and with a penetrating and balanced aroma of oak wood.
