Hidden in a green setting between Avignon and Châteauneuf du Pape, Château Gigognan is an ancestral estate with a great reputation. Originally, the legionnaire Gigius built a temple which was subsequently destroyed and rebuilt into a priory in the 14th century, the secondary residence of the bishop of Avignon.
Organic domain for more than 10 years, Château Gigognan extends over a current area of 110 hectares: 1/3 in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, 1/3 in Côtes du Rhône Villages and 1/3 in Côtes du Rhône in reds, whites and rosés.
New vintages in CDR Villages Signargues as well as a sulfur-free red CDR vintage allow the estate to expand and complete its range of wines.
The new managing director, M.Emmanuel LAURENT (oenologist by training), the new technical team and the contribution of the famous consultant M.Derenoncourt complete the range of viticultural skills.
