Good morning !
I am a producer of saffron and aromatic plants at Domaine du Valhalla in the town of Latour de France in the Eastern Pyrenees (66).
I grow organically, by hand, etc.  I aspire in all things to limit my impact on the environment through my behavior and the way in which I work, I believe that each act has consequences and I am aware of the importance for each of us to do our part .

My plots are located on terraces abandoned by the ancients because they could not be mechanized, only horses could pass through them.  The vine was the main crop there.  I restored access to the different plots, the dry stone walls and the plantations that still remained (vines, Cormiers, almond orchards, juniper trees, etc.))favoring endemic species and reflecting on the lack of water.  This is how, quite naturally, I turned to perfume, aromatic and medicinal plants such as saffron, Italian helichrysum and dried plants harvested wild or from my plots.
Of the 8 hectares of the estate, three quarters are on siliceous soil and the maquis dominates, allowing all the biodiversity to express itself.  My job within this preserved ecosystem is to cultivate and harvest while observing and without disrupting the balance.
In spring, I sell macerations of solarized plants (Italian helichrysum and St. John's wort).  Currently out of stock.
Concerning Saffron, we are currently on a raw dry organic product in 1gr / 0.5gr or 0.25gr.  We pay particular attention to keeping the stigma attached to the number three so as not to downgrade its quality.  The containers are glass with cork stoppers.  Indeed, I attach enormous importance to consistency as a whole, both in terms of the quality of the product, its container and its aesthetics, but also to the fact that the bottles are reusable.  As I finish the stocks of containers, it will subsequently be entirely possible to offer other bottles with different weights.

Aware of the potential of the existing vines (Syrah), I trained to make quality vinegar in an artisanal way.  The Vinegar is slowly aging and will be on sale in February 2024.  It will be sold pure or flavored with plants from the estate.
Concerned about dealing with the environment around me, I stopped raising laying hens and gradually diversified my range of products around PPAM.
Thus, an artisanal saffron soap is being produced, as is cider vinegar and saffron mead.
I am also currently making herbal salts.  The fleur de sel comes from a friend who is a salt worker in the Bay of Bourgneuf and it will be a collaboration of women motivated to showcase their shared creations!
My marketing channels are very varied: direct sales on the village market but also home delivery thanks to word of mouth which is starting to take effect, sales on the internet through my online site and also in delicatessens.
My experience in mail order sales thanks to my website allows me to assure you of know-how in shipping, customer relations as well as respect on deadlines.

Favoring transparency and dialogue, I am here to listen to you if you would like other additional information, particularly for the upcoming Christmas period.
My goal is to make my small farm "Le Domaine du Valhalla" viable, to bring to life the values that are dear to me and to discover the full potential of the plants that nature offers us.
It will be a real pleasure to share and discuss with you.
Hoping to hear from you by email, Facebook, Instagram or even by phone!
Have a nice and beautiful day
Fanny Le Pors
