A lovely wine from Saint Emilion, produced by Pierre Vircoulon, an epicurean friend and bon vivant who decided to continue the family adventure by taking over 4 hectares of vines in a rich terroir in the Bordeaux region. This Saint-Émilion Grand Cru struck d'Or comes from 50-year-old vines. It is blended from 68% Merlot, 15% Cabernet-Franc, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon. The vinification is traditional and the aging is partly in vats and partly in new barrels/several wines. This allows for good aging potential and drinkability from two years! Under its beautiful color with small notes of ruby, we discover a pretty nose of intense fruit which announces a gourmet wine. And deliciousness can be found on the palate, where the wine is ample, round, with toasted and ripe fruit aromas, before showing a long and intense finish.
