It all began in the spring of 1893 near Ventimiglia when Secondo Abbo, who was already producing and selling extra virgin olive oil, decided to go in search of new customers and a new market. Thus it was that he crossed the Colle di Tenda several times to go to northern Italy where, since there was no oil production, the market was more favourable. Already at the time, the oil stood out for its quality, winning the gold medal at the floriculture exhibition in Ventimiglia back in 1924.
After the war, Giovanni Abbo, Gianpaolo's father, started over from scratch, re-establishing contacts with old customers. And it is Gianpaolo himself, in turn supported by his son Giovanni, who has brought the Abbo company to the threshold of the new millennium, along a path that has unfolded for four generations.
The Abbo company is a small Ligurian company that makes an excellent artisan product, basing the care of the product on the experience gained in the past decades.
