The Meteor brewery has put all its know-how since 1640 at the service of quality and taste.
With a history of nearly 4 centuries, Brasserie Meteo is the oldest brewing site in France, in the heart of Alsace. For 8 generations, the HAAG family has fought every day alongside its 200 employees to defend the independence of the Meteor Brewery. This independence allows us to brew beers with character, to maintain our jobs here in France, to act for the environment and to share the passion for our profession with amateurs.
It was in 1640 that Jean Klein created the brewery in its current location in Hochfelden. In 1898 Marie-Louise Metzger daughter of the owner of the brewery married Louis Haag, brewer in Ingwiller. The brewery becomes Brasserie Metzger-Haag.
In 1925 the Metzger-Haag brewery was renamed Meteor. A pioneer among pioneers, the brewery is always at the forefront of modernity, following the technical developments of the industrial revolution. Creator of tastes since always, the brewery has nearly 20 different beer and cooler recipes and releases two ephemeral brews per year.
