The love for the Italian culture of enjoyment, combined with a tradition of a wild family of vines that is unknown in large parts of Germany, which grew and was described more than 2000 years ago on the Po Valley on the outskirts of Emilia Romagna, is producing something new today: THE FIRST BLACK SEKT

WHO STANDS BEHIND THE CRAFTSMANSHIP
Frank Basta - Born in 1969 to first-generation Italian immigrants, I was born to Italian culture and enjoyment. As a child, I spent a lot of time in my parents' Italian delicatessen. For more than 30 years, the focus of my qualifications has been in the food & beverage sector of upscale gastronomy, hotels and retail.

In 2010 I got to know the Emilia Romagna winegrowers' cooperative and the culture of these deep dark grapes from the region. The almost black wine, slightly sparkling and fruity-fresh from a millennia-old, natural vine family inspired me.
The question of whether it could be used to make a black, dry sparkling wine occupied me as a result.

Three years passed from the idea to the first bottling in 2014, during which the complete network between oenologists and winegrowing families could be established.

Since June 2018, DER SCHWARZE SEKT has been approved as a quality sparkling wine, the first of its kind - a premium sparkling wine of the highest quality.
