Sicily has long enchanted and amazed with its beauty, its colors, its genuine scents.
The largest island in Italy also known as the island of the sun, with mild, humid winters and hot, dry summers, where men cultivate olive trees and vineyards at the foot of the great smoking volcano, Etna. And in Sicily lives a people with big hearts, welcoming by nature and at the same time distrustful. A people who inhabit a land in the center of the Mediterranean with a destiny suspended halfway between East and West, a hinge over the centuries between reason and magic, between science and madness.
A land of myths, of colorful fruits, of wild contradictions.
Sicily is home for us and here we grow our centuries-old olive trees at over 700 meters above sea level.
We are a farm located in Cesarò, a small mountain town northwest of Etna. The family agricultural tradition began at the beginning of the last century with the founder, Peppino "u' lupu" (i.e. the wolf), who works for a wealthy family of landowners in the area for whom he manages the agricultural properties located in the Bolo Malamogliera district. It was his son, Calogero, who began to purchase agricultural holdings until he accumulated an area of approximately 100 hectares.
In 2015, Calogero's children, Giuseppe and Maria Concetta, founded the Virzì Agricultural Company to renew the family's commitment to olive growing and strengthen the promise of promoting native cultivars, together with a way of farming that is as sustainable and respectful of natural processes as possible.
Today Virzì is a brand that works both in B2B and B2C, specialized in the production of high quality organic extra virgin olive oils, "heart" almonds and coscia pears. All production takes place on the company's farms, exclusively under organic farming conditions. Our certifications: Organic, Mountain Product, Slow Food Presidium, IGP SICILY.
We also offer the possibility of creating your own label (even for small batches).
