The origins of Château Sainte-Marie go back several centuries, already in 1874 the Féret cited Sainte-Marie for its production of 8 barrels in red and white.
Formerly maintained by the monks of the Abbaye de la Sauve Majeure, one of the oldest abbeys in France, located 4 kilometers from the property, this bourgeois building was plagued by fire in the 18th century.
