Maison Hurel is a French artisanal company located in Châteaubriant, Loire-Atlantique, founded by Valentin Hurel, a young entrepreneur passionate about gastronomy.
It all started in 2019 with a salted butter caramel recipe passed down by his cousin, the Michelin-starred chef Jacques Thorel. Initially produced in limited quantities and distributed locally under the name "Caramel Valentin", the product quickly established itself as an artisanal benchmark in the region. In 2024, "Caramel Valentin" became Maison Hurel and expanded its range to include chocolate spread.
Today, Maison Hurel makes its spreads in its workshop in Châteaubriant, using whole cream as a substitute for vegetable oils, a signature that gives them a unique melting and smooth texture. The products are made without palm oil, using carefully selected ingredients.
Maison Hurel also makes gift baskets that combine its creations and a selection of products from local producers in the Greater West, chosen for their expertise and their attachment to the land.
