Casa Lucciola is the name of the hill where our farm stands.  We are in the Marche, in the Matelica valley, 430 meters above sea level, here a small farm, above the fog line, surrounded by vineyards, produces and bottles an artisanal Verdicchio, fermented in a natural way with little sulfur and a lot of respect for the nature.

The Cruciani family has been taking care of this little piece of land under the sky in an organic way for 25 years.
   
How Casa Lucciola was born

Casa Lucciola is a piece of Luca's family history, purchased in 1992 by Lorenzo, Luca's father, from the nuns of the Monastery of the Blessed Mattia Nazzarei, protector of Matelica, the small farm was restored and immediately converted to the organic method.
   
Luca, the owner, in 2013, tired of moving a mouse and looking at a screen, decided to change profession and live from agriculture, to rediscover contact with Nature, the Seasons and Time.  Together with his wife Barbara and their three children they first planted two hectares of vineyards and then another two.

With the help of Barbara's family they manage to build a small cellar and in 2019 their first wine was bottled.

Based in the heart of rural Italy, today they produce a few bottles divided into four lines of Verdicchio and sell small quantities to small distributors in Europe, the United States and Japan.
   
Organic grapes and artisanal quality

Casa Lucciola offers elegant wines, fermented naturally, but clean and without deviations.  The assortment is determined by the season and climate of the year.

We cultivate the vineyard in an organic and biodynamic way, trying to accompany nature to give us a wine with an intense and lively flavour, the flavor of the past.

In its most suitable territory we grow Verdicchio, a white grape variety, which gives a wine with a lot of structure, savory and characterized by good aromas due to the continental-type microclimate.

Thanks to our family size we are able to have obsessive control in the cultivation of high quality grapes and a light and non-invasive winemaking that enhances the natural flavors of Verdicchio.
 

 The commitment and values ​​of Casa Lucciola

Casa Lucciola's vocation is to revive the flavors of the past, to give a wine that is the best companion to food on a laid table, trying to pollute as little as possible in its production.

We seek a compromise with the environment, we are aware that the spaceship called Planet Earth needs each of us to do our part in respecting it, we use light bottles that create less CO2 in production and transport, when possible we seek more manual and less impactful on the environment, we try to use recyclable materials in every phase of production, we live on this hill and try to leave fertile land, drinkable water and breathable air to future generations.
   
We are looking for partners who share our values, we think we are an ideal winery for small distributors, restaurants, wine shops looking for niche products, independent from the logic of large-scale distribution that satisfy their customers and are sustainable.

Casa Lucciola has been organically certified according to EU legislation for more than 25 years.
