The Domaine d'Argilius is a young farm created from several islets of vines in the commune of Saint Philippe d'Aiguilhe. Ludovic Battistin, the owner, settled there in 2009 as a harvester alongside Mr. Jean-Marie Faux, his mentor. In 2017 he decided to formalize his attachment to the terroirs of the commune by setting up as a young winegrower. The Domaine d'Argilius had just been born with the acquisition of several plots located on the clay-limestone plateaus of this beautiful town.
After 3 years of conversion to Organic Agriculture, the Domaine was awarded the AB label in January 2021. The fruit of a long work carried out in delicacy to preserve the old vines which are on average 40 years old on this new exploitation of Castillons Côtes from Bordeaux.
A restructuring has just been launched in 2020 with the plantation of Cabernet-Franc. Other old grape varieties are planned for new planting each year in order to obtain complex blends suitable for laying down.
