Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux is a family property established for more than 200 years on the Left Bank of Bordeaux, more precisely in Moulis-en-Médoc.

We produce two wines, Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux and Petit Dutruch, two wines with different characters, both characterized by a common thread: freshness, finesse and elegance.

Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux is produced from grapes from the old vines of the property. Manual, the harvest is carried out at optimum maturity to preserve the natural acidity of the berries. We thus obtain a fresh, balanced wine, pleasant to drink and with a great aptitude for aging.

The aging is then carried out in French oak barrels for 12 months. 1/3 of the barrels are new, 1/3 are one year old and 1/3 are two years old. If the woodiness of French oak is essential because it provides precision and tannic structure, it is essential for us that it is only a support for the expression of the wine and not the reverse.

In its youth, Château Dutruch Grand Poujeaux presents aromas of fresh and crunchy red and black fruits, with subtle toasted and roasted notes. The palate is smooth, fresh and precise. The tannins, present but well integrated, are very persistent.

With age, the aromatic evolves towards truffle, animal and menthol notes. We advise you to wait at least 3 to 5 years, but the aging potential can be impressive depending on the vintage.

As for him, the Petit Dutruch, comes from our young vines, the Petit Dutruch, it is a wine for consumption. Easy to drink because on the fruit and the freshness, its lighter frame will make it an ally of the meals but also of the aperitifs provided that they are substantial: charcuterie, cheese, toast, etc.

We recommend drinking Petit Dutruch within 3 to 5 years, although it can be stored longer without problem.
