By becoming the owner of Château des Combes, our family settled in 1858 in the hamlet of Hourc, municipality of Ladaux, a small rural village in Entre-Deux-Mers, south-east of Bordeaux. Pierre Ducourt, then his children and grandchildren then worked on the few hectares of vines on the property. The arrival of our grandfather, Henri Ducourt, on the estate, marks a turning point for the company. He will, with the help of three of his children (Marie Christine, Philippe and Bernard), strongly boost his activity and make this family vineyard one of the largest wine-growing units in Bordeaux (480 hectares, 14 châteaux out of 6 AOCs different).
