It all started in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, where we created our first batch of Altitude Gin in 2017. With a still borrowed from a wooden mazot at the foot of Mont Blanc, we built something spectacular. Gin evenings followed, Chamoniards were captivated, and it was time to share Altitude Gin with the world.
We also wanted to share our love for the mountains. We are all aware that they need a helping hand right now, which is why we are committed to joining forces with others to preserve and protect them.
We all want to enjoy what's in our bottles today, but we also want our summits to be able to still be the place of new adventures and that even braver traces be imprinted there.
The Alps are vital for the health of Europe. More than a source of inspiration, they provide 40% of fresh water to millions of people in Europe.
But changes are beginning to be observed and felt. Native species, which have evolved to thrive in these mountains, are battling rising temperatures and the effects of melting glaciers, snow and permafrost.
We could lose 60% of mountain plant species due to climate change. And that includes the combination of mountain plants that make our Altitude Gin so extraordinary.
This is why, for each bottle of Altitude Gin sold, we make a donation to CREA Mont Blanc, which finances scientific research on the impact of climate change in the Alps. Because this world needs us now.
