It was in 1975 that Daniel Vallégeas, Artisan Baker Pastry Chocolate Maker, settled on the Île de Ré in Sainte-Marie de Ré.

In 1995, with his son Eric, they created, in Saint Martin de Ré, their first workshop entirely dedicated to the world of chocolate and caramel.

Eric Vallégeas quickly took over the management of Île de Ré Chocolats, and, thanks to his know-how as an Artisan Chocolatier, developed a whole range around regional specialties but also around caramel.

Today, the Île de Ré Chocolats de Saint Martin workshop is structured around a discovery tour.

In the form of a film and a small scenography, you learn the history of caco, from its origin to its manufacture.

At the end of this presentation, we invite you to discover a demonstration by an artisan chocolatier and succumb to our range of Île de Ré products in our beautiful space dedicated to sales.

In 2013, a second manufacturing site opened in La Rochelle to continue the growth of the activity.

Finally in 2018, a second store opened its doors, Boulevard Joffre, in La Rochelle.

Today, the Île de Ré Chocolats team has 30 people spread across the 3 sites.
