SERENITY BISCUITS is an artisanal biscuit factory located in a small village on the borders of Brenne and Poitou. We propose to return to reasonable and responsible consumption, by favoring short circuits and promoting the local products that surround us.
In our workshop, we make a whole range of sweet biscuits, without added sugar and also gluten-free. For your aperitifs, discover our salty strips or crackers and for the more gourmet, our selection of varied nougats and meringues.
The artisanal manufacturing, the authenticity and quality of our raw materials (without additives, preservatives or artificial coloring), the concern for the environment are all reasons to assure you that all our biscuits are shaped by hand with love and to be enjoyed in complete "Peace of mind".
And for the more curious, here is a summary of my story and the birth of SERENITY BISCUITS
Name: Pigeonnat, First name: Catherine....
Before opening a workshop-boutique in Vicq-sur-Gartempe in Vienne, I transformed my house into a guest house where I welcomed passing tourists with a small bag of homemade nougat. Treats named “Montin stones” in reference to the local stone extracted in the town. Nougat, then small biscuits: I quickly got into the game and when I decided to close my guest rooms, for family reasons, I did not give up manufacturing. I even chose to create my own brand of artisanal biscuits: Serenity (a reference to the hamlet where I live, “La Serenne”). Five years ago now, the small business gained momentum by setting up my production workshop in the old Vicq post office, as well as a boutique space where, in addition to the products produced on site, some locally made specialities are offered. Not necessarily regional specialties in the sense that we understand it, but delicatessen. And it works.
My first approach: "my commitment to the local economy"
We produce in small quantities, depending on the seasons and orders. Around twenty references of salty crackers or strips, without the slightest artifice but with an objective of excellence. For an aperitif with slices of Pouligny Saint-Pierre or Sainte Maure de Touraine goat cheese, walnuts or even chorizo flavor. Small biscuits with or without gluten for the sweet side – energy bars, and always top sellers, the Montin stones, small soft and crumbly nougats which are a local specialty. Also available in bulk, the fifty or so references have convinced us with the quality of our recipes but also with our commitment to the local economy. For its production, Serenity Biscuits uses AOP Charentes Poitou butter, eggs from local free-range hens, traditional wheat flour, corn flour, buckwheat flour, all HVE (High Environmental Value). The list is far from being exhaustive. And as they say, “it makes sense” and sales. Local people appreciate this local sourcing and let it be known.
