Opened in June 2019, the Distillerie du Sonneur is a micro agricultural distillery located in the city center of Le Mans.
We have 5 hectares of orchards in the north of the department where we cultivate our fruits, plants and flowers using non-irrigated organic farming and agroforestry for the production of our alcohols. We participate in creating a real ecosystem in our orchards by preserving several dozen species of insects and small animals including the yellow-bellied ringing toad which gave its name to the distillery.
We produce brandies from local plants, fruits, flowers and wine marc, a range of aromatic vodkas and gins faithful to the raw materials we cultivate. Our range of hand-filtered, lightly sweetened liqueurs allows for free consumption whether on ice or as a coulis on a dessert. Our aperitifs revisit traditional regional aperitifs or, like our deranged (arranged eaux de vie), create a new segment in their own right.
Our location in the city center of Le Mans is not due to chance. Bringing production and sales closer to our customers was essential. We offer different tours and workshops to discover our commitment, our values, our production methods and the world of spirits.
