Our history with this territory of Minervois-La Livinière begins with a beautiful clear sunny morning in December 2005.

We were with a local friend who had come to see vines in the hamlet of Calamiac - which we did not know - without any intention of buying any and settling there. We instantly fell in love with the place and the landscapes that surrounded us: it was magical, magnetic.

Without thinking too much, through this friend, we quickly acquired plots of vines to renovate - what a galley slave's job - and rented other plots.

We did not know Calamiac but we knew La Livinière, Siran, Minerve, the chapels of Centeilles and Saint Germain and all this region of which we loved the landscapes, the architecture, the villages and of course its wines and winegrowers that we appreciate everything particularly.

We had nothing but the vines to work on and from the fall of 2006, we harvested and vinified our first two cuvées of Minervois and Cinsault in our friend's cellar for 3 years.

The marketing of these first cuvées began on May 10, 2008, a historic date for us: our first wines.

In 2009, our son Julien, who was finishing his studies in viti-oenology, for our greatest happiness and practical interest -because, how to continue to work these vines while being in another job, moreover- decided to settle as as a Young Farmer on these plots.

We started looking for a place to install a cellar, which was not without difficulty. In June 2009, we ended up buying an old cellar to renovate at 1 avenue du Midi in Siran, a cellar which was just ready the day before the 1st day of the harvest. Since then, all our cuvées have been vinified in this cellar.

Julien officially settled in July 2010.

Domaine les Jeanneterres is now a family business where Julien works manually in the vineyards and in the cellar: pruning, harvesting, vinification, bottling, helped by his father on weekends and holidays, his mother mainly taking care of the administrative part. . His sister Agnès, who also studied viti-oeno, comes to help from time to time: harvests, tastings, sales.

We take care of everything, family work from the work of the vineyard, to the work of the cellar, to the bottling, from the tasting to the sale.

Our name “Les Jeanneterres” quite simply comes from the first name of the person from whom we took over the vines: Jeanne, the lands of Jeanne, therefore, in her honor and to thank her.
