Located in the town of RIBAUTE LES TAVERNES, in the heart of the Duchy of Uzès vineyards.
The Camp-Galhan estate finds its roots on the old terraces of the Gardon (river emblematic of the Cévennes).
This atypical very hot terroir, made up of large rolled pebbles, allows great maturity of the grapes, while preserving the aromatic potential.
This is mainly due to the significant thermal amplitudes from the Cévennes that are found in this land of sun and heat.
From this terroir were born the Camp-Galhan cuvées, structured, aromatic wines, resulting from a rigorous selection of grapes.
Camp-Galhan is an innovative cellar, built on three levels to match the slope of the land.
Thus the manipulations are done without a harvest pump, simply by taking advantage of gravity.
A Naturally Rich Terroir:
To the north, the Cévennes raise the horizon in the form of massive vaults which generate a mass of cool or icy air depending on the season.
The Gard sunshine and summer temperatures contrast with those of autumn and winter
The Concepts make the Camp Galhan Philosophy:
A draining soil, overhung by an implacable sun, and refreshed at night by the breath of the Cévennes
This is what gives the terroir of the estate an optimal thermal amplitude. The terroir is located on the old bed of the Gardon, characterized by the presence of rolled pebbles weighing several kilos.
Alain and Lionel POURQUIER accompanied by Orceline Martel have been able to take advantage of these natural assets to produce these now notable wines in AOP Duché d'Uzès (from the 2013 vintage), IGP Cévennes and IGP Pays d'Oc Rosé, White and Red …
No question of aiming for anything other than the top of the range with these assets. This is why the work of the vine is an art for the Pourquier family: High Environmental Value (HVE) agriculture, with sorted and worked grapes allow the vats to ferment the best of the estate.
Manual harvesting is always, for the great cuvées, present at the Domaine, in particular our Ripa Alta Rouge & Les Grès.
